In 2025, I went on a volunteer trip to City of Refuge Church in Tijunana, Mexico. This experience gave me the opportunity to see firsthand the lives of children growing up in orphnage on the other side of the border. After returning from the trip, I began researching similar orphange and organzation in Mexico and looking for ways that I could hlep.

Through my research, I found Life Without Border(LWB), a nonprofit organization base in Los Angeles. LWB has a program to donate solar system to those family and community in need. I realized that this could be a meaningful opportunity to support a children’s organization in Mexico in a sustainable and long-term way.

After that, I started to contacting different orphagan and orgnizations in Mexico, and I found City of Angel Children’s Project and its own little coffee shop right next to their orphanage. Since spring 2026, I started with COA Children’s Projects, to better understand their needs and determine how the solar project could help. After months of communication with both organizations, in Oct 2026, LWB agreed to donate over $10,000 worth of solar equipment to City of Angel Children’s Project. The solar system will be installed in City of Angel’s Children's Project Orphange’s own coffee shop which is right next to their orphnage in Rosarito, Mexico. These coffee shop provide a source of income to the orphnage, also provide some working oppotunities for those who grown up in the orphnage. The solar system will reducing the shop’s electricity cost, thus allow more of its income to go toward supporting the children and the organization’s daily operations. Rather than providing only short-term assistance, my goal with this project is to help create a resource that can continue bnefiting the children for years to come.

I am now working on our next project Baja Bound. I can not wait to bring solar to help more people and families in the other side of the border.
